Thirteen is a regularly played asian card game, its called 13 because each player holds 13 cards when dealt, and these are the rules:
1. max 4 players (13 cards each, 1 deck)
2. 3 is the lowest card 2 is the highest, it goes: hearts, diamonds, clubs, spade (highest to lowest)
3. lowest card starts (3 of spades)
4. you can play the 3 as the following 'Types': a single (by itself), a double (with another 3), a triple (with two other 3s), a combo (consecutive cards [eg 3 4 5] with a minimum of 3 consecutive cards, the highest card in a combo is Ace [differs in cultures and stuff])
5. the next person to go (clockwise or anti clockwise [up to you]) can beat it with a higher card of that 'Type' following the rules in step 2. (you can beat a combo with the exact same combo, as long as the highest card has a higher suit [eg 3 4 5{clubs} can beat 3 4 5{spades}])
6. the highest card is any 2, it can only be beaten by a higher 2 or a 'Chop': minimum three consecutive doubles (3 3 4 4 5 5) [three consecutive doubles can beat one 2, four consecutive can beat two 2s etc], or by playing a quad (four of a kind) [can beat any amount of 2s]
7. chops can also be beaten by a higher chop of its kind (consecutive and consecutive or quad and quad, cant use consecutive to beat quad or vice versa)
8. you may play in a round or pass, if you pass you cannot continue in that round until it is over (eg playing singles, until no one can beat it, then the winner starts another round of any Type, then all players can rejoin and play)
9. first to lay down all cards (according to the rules) wins
10. instant wins: by having one of the following when cards are dealt: four 2s, 6 doubles, or a 'Dragon' (having a combo from 3 to Ace is enough to win)
